Emily and Jordan traveled all the way from America to elope with me in Italy. They booked a stay at Hotel Alpen Tesitin, a 10 minutes drive from the iconic Lago di Braies, one of the most famous lakes in the world, where they decided to have a sunrise photo session to exchange their wedding gifts, savor some coffee while enjoying the picturesque view.

Lake Braies is a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by mountains and green pastures. It's known for its trout fishing, but it's also popular among hikers who are looking for a unique view of three peaks: Croda Rossa (Red Peak), Tofane (Tofan), and Monte Cristallo (Christal Mountain). There are several restaurants where you can stop for lunch after exploring these beautiful landscapes. The Hotel Alpen Tesitin offers packages that include transfers from Venice Airport as well as accommodation at their hotel near Lake Braies so you can relax after your hike/hiking elopement before heading back into town or onto Venice if you prefer instead!
Eloping at Tre Cime di Lavaredo
After our morning photo shoot, the girls and I drove back to the hotel where they got ready for their hiking elopement. Emily chose to wear a stunning black gown while Jordan matched the autumn colors with a burgundy red suit. We then drove for one hour to Tre Cime, a magical place where the exchange of their vows happened. Tre Cime di Lavaredo is a stunning mountain range that overlooks Lake Garda in northern Italy. Its three peaks make an impressive backdrop for your wedding photos—and if you can hike up this mountain range together before saying your vows, even better! We took the Cadini di Misurina path and we found the perfect spot to say ''yes''. Away from the tourists with a remote, intimate backdrop and a warm October sun. We all cried, it was so beautiful!

Autumn is a great time to get married in Italy. The mild climate means that you can get married whenever you want, but autumn offers a bonus of beautiful colors. In the Dolomites, the leaves change from green to gold and red and orange.
